Jerzy Wtorek
Received PhD and habilitation in biomedical electronics in 1986 and 2004. He was the main researcher or coordinator of many scientific projects and is the author of 7 books, more than 200 refereed publications, and 16 patents. Currently, he is the Dean of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics, GUT. He was a leader of the recently completed DOMESTIC project that resulted in a home system for health and activity monitoring of elderly. The elements of the system include intelligent diagnostic armchair, the smart scale (with ECG measurements), the smart bathtub supporting safe bathing preserving the privacy of a person, etc. The system received many international and national awards. It was also demonstrated at CeBIT fairs.
